THE QUEEN OF GUESS 2003
About: "Eagerly anticipated "proper" new release from this busy quintet of troublemakers is an immense visceral slab of rackety action. While certainly their most upbeat and percussive music ever, the 9 tracks run through a wide range of styles. "The Slient Socket" has a gamelan-like 5 note melody overlaid with a hovering drone. "Magnetic Burn" is the band at its most rock, with sister-ray style guitar careening along side actual drums (!). The two 20 minute epics that bookend the record are a study in contrasts: "Ramshackle Sunrise" has the heavy and excited buzz of the groop's frequent and unpredictable live shows, while the closing "Goodnight Stars Goodnight Air" is a gentler acoustic epilogue, gliding into the rosy future."
PONTIAC LADY (LIVE US) 2004
About: "Vibracathedral Orchestra toured the Northeast U.S. in late 2003. For those of us who weren't lucky enough to catch one of the shows, the fine folks at vhf have released this lengthy documentation of some of the best moments...
...This massive 3xCDR set is a fine document of what seems to have been a staggeringly good jaunt across the pond for Vibracathedral Orchestra. And, considering the full bills at most of these shows (they were touring with Sunroof!, and enjoyed the company of Son of Earth, Pelt, Jack Rose and Double Leopards, to name a few), this tour could have probably justified a 10xCD (or more) set."

TURNING TO THE ROOSTER 2004
About: "This is music as a shamanic aid, made as much for the players themselves as for the listeners. But as I’m writing from the listening perspective, I have to inform y’all that this is music to get you there. Every track sounds as though it has always just ‘been there’, it’s just you ain’t quite tuned into its peculiar frequency until now. The 12-and-a-half minute Wearing Clothes of Ash is like a piano-led PARADIESWARTS DUUL-period drone-a-thon with John Cale and Terry Riley guesting on viola and keys. Following this, the sublime Baptism Bar Blues is proof positive that they can rock the riot house with pure adrenaline rush when the decision is made. Indeed, this track is magnificent and should be available to the masses free or in pill form."
THE SUN BALANCE/THE OPEN KNOT 2006
About: "Vibracathedral are cranking out some of their best stuff right now…..and that’s saying something. Here we have two side-long excursions on green vinyl and it really gets the neurons firing. Manic, static, patient buzz. The guitars and toy instruments pile up on one another and create a dense foam, a musky lather. Demented church organ sounds drive headfirst and there’s even some percussion thrown in for a bit. Although, they don’t need percussion to drive a piece of music. The Vibracathedral band pulses, fucking undulates and rides, on a wave of sweet electric drone."

WHISDOM THUNDERBOLT 2007
About: "Wisdom Thunderbolt marks the triumphant return of Vibracathedral after over 3 years in the wilderness of intermittent performance, tangential projects, and unfindable limited editions. The 7 tracks on Wisdom are thee VCO’s most rocking dispatch ever, neatly combining the Ra-like collage of tracks like “Wisdom Thunderbolt” with the insistent jams of the pulsing “A Natural Fact” and “Order of the Broad Eraser.” “Ochre Dust” and “Rainbow Whirlwind” are more in the old-school VCO thick-blanket of sound, with an insistent tuned-percussion melody peeking out from the fog. After a surprise opening, “Sway-Sage” heaves with raucous drumming (courtesy of Magik Marker Pete Nolan) under the swells of sound. Hard to imagine, but this is the first widely-available (except for the compilation “Tuning to the Rooster”) music from the VCO since 2003’s “The Queen of Guess.”"
