Amazing both in fore- and background music. Through Glass Panes will be out at Important records on May 24 (if one'd believe in Amazon dates). Noteworthy that earlier Ellen (together with Theresa Wong as The Infinite Strings Ensemble) releases Headlands, collab work with dronedelic Barn Owl.

"In 1981 Ellen Fullman (b. 1957) began developing the “Long String Instrument,” an installation of dozens of wires fifty feet or more in length, tuned in Just Intonation and ‘bowed’ with rosin coated fingers. Fullman has developed a unique notation system to choreograph the performer’s movements, exploring sonic events that occur at specific nodal point locations along the string-length of the instrument. She has recorded extensively with this unusual instrument and has collaborated with such luminary figures as composer Pauline Oliveros, choreographer Deborah Hay, the Kronos Quartet, and Keiji Haino."

Biba Kopf (The Wire) — about the Long String Instrument: “Listening to it, you feel like you are inside some cyclopean subterranean grotto… its bejewelled walls glistening with an alien lustre (and) sounding like something that shimmers, iridescent shapes bend conventional pulse-based time and impose their own paradoxical temporality, where constant movement teems within a vast stasis.”
